Overtime rates for hours worked above 8-hour day in a 24-hour period, 2 hours guaranteed if called in during off-duty hours

Shift Differential: 3% for Uniform Shift II (Afternoon Shift), 4% for Uniform Shift III (Midnight Shift)

Specialty pay of 2% when appointed by the Michigan City Police Department: SWAT, SCUBA, Field Training Officer (FTO), Indiana Law Enforcement Training Board Certified Instructor, Drug Recognition Expert (DRE), Crime Scene Technician and Accident Reconstructionist

Education incentives: 1% on base pay for Associate’s Degree, 2% for Bachelor’s Degree
